The research activities are developed both with public financing and in cooperation with national and international private enterprises.
Concerning the public financing, eight research projects have been funded by the European Union in the last five years. In 2021 the total public funding for the research projects which are being carried out is 2755 k€.
The Department has many collaborations and research contracts with private enterprises, and they represent one of the main activities of the Department for an average of 770 k€/year in 2019-2021. This activity has often a high scientific relevance or deals with situations where the usual design rules do not provide adequate results. Specific tests carried out by means of advanced scientific instrumentation are also an important activity.
