Sound Transmission Test Facility
The sound transmission test facility for building elements, designed according to the EN ISO 10140-5:2010 standard, is constituded by two reverberant rooms with volumes V1 = 70.8 m3 and V2 = 79.5 m3. The laboratory setup allows for two different standardised measurements. | |
The laboraory allows for the the experimental measurements of airborne sound insulation of building elements, according the standard EN ISO 10140-2: 2010. In order to reduce the flanking sound transmission, the two reverberants rooms have completely detached and independet structures, seprated by the test ring. The structure of each room is suspended on a double layer of springs, in oder to further reduce the vibration genrated inside or outside the laboratory. It was possibile to obtain the maximum measurable sound insulation index: Rw,max > 80 dB(A). |

Noise from waste water installations The laboratory is equipped for the measurement of noise generated from waste water installations, according to the standards EN 3822:1999 and EN 14366:2004. The systems is constituded by an accumulation tank and a collection basin. The piping system can be test with a regular flow controlled by a regulation valve. |
